AAJC/JEN One-to-One Outreach​​​

AAJC SPEAKS is a member supported blog that is released on a monthly basis. Each blog submitted highlights an aspect of jazz history, jazz education, or perspective on jazz performance practice as represented from the pedagogic perspective of the African American and African Diaspora experience. Blogs service as a global resource for jazz education and discourse.

In partnership with JEN Outreach, affiliates of AAJC members have the opportunity to talk with a specialist in their field of interest. Mentors in the One-to-one outreach program specilize in areas of performance, composition, scholarship/publication, education, music business, and arts administration.

Each year at the Jazz Education Network (JEN) conference, the AAJC features a local community youth group and/or collegiate jazz ensemble from a Historically Black College and University or Predominately Black Institution. Participants in featured ensemble are provided: registration for the JEN conference, and personal mentoring through the AAJC/JEN Outreach initiative.
